Happy

Above all, be true to yourself, and if you cannot put your heart in it, take yourself out of it.

It is the first day of a new year, a clean slate, one of my favorite days of the year. As a perpetual organizer who never actually gets anything completely organized, this day offers such hope. Hope for all of the projects that have been sitting on the shelf whispering my name. Hope for all of the adventures that are to fill the coming months. Hope for better things to come. Hope - the feeling that what is wanted can be had or that events will turn out for the best. Hope - one of the most beautiful gifts that we have been given.

Jay and I are beginning this year with hope and we are wishing that each and every one of you will be covered with a blanket of hope that inspires you to reach your loftiest dreams. Dig deep in your soul and find the thing that you have always wanted to do...then don't just dream it, DO IT! Put your heart in it and enjoy the ride. If someone from the other side of the railroad tracks tries to rain on your parade, just go buy a fabulous umbrella and dance in the rain.

Today, we wish you a bowl full of black-eyed peas, turnip greens, and hog jowl to start the year off in the proper Southern way! May your table be full of laughter and your homes be so full of love that it spreads across the neighborhood. Happy New Year!
