Calling all magic bean buyers

"If you are a dreamer, come in. If you are a dreamer, a wisher, a liar, a hoper, a prayer, a magic-bean buyer. If you're a pretender, come sit by my fire, for we have some flax-golden tales to spin. Come in! Come in!

a man we call "Jeremiah"

You can call me pink and glittery, you can call me wishy-washy, and you could call me Al, but you may call me crazy after my story today. Do you believe in ghosts? This morning I found myself alone in our warehouse as Jay claimed to be at the dentist(it took him half of the day at this "dentist" hmmm). As I busied myself doing this and that, I caught the image of a man crossing the back door. At first I thought it must be Jay, but as I called his name, there was no answer. I realized it must be Jeremiah. Jeremiah is the name that Jay gave to our spirit that lives in the warehouse. It all started about 3 years ago when we noticed a shadowy figure that would move across the warehouse. At first, neither of us knew what it was or whether we should ask the other if he had seen it too. I finally gave in and asked Jay, "Did you just see that?" We both decided that our spirit meant no harm and we should probably keep this to ourselves(people already think we are little looney)! Time passed and we had a friend of ours visiting one day. As we stood talking, she suddenly turned and said, "What was that? Did you see that?" We explained our spirit situation and she firmly agreed that it was there! One afternoon when Jay was feeling down and in the warehouse alone, he had a conversation with the spirit. He believes that it told him that his name is Jeremiah, so from that day forward, our spirit has been Jeremiah. He comes and goes and never bothers us any more than to move an object from place to place. I kinda think that he may actually like us a little bit. Today, his presence moved back and forth in front of the door as if he was keeping guard for me. I told him "thank you". Do you believe in ghosts?

fabulous french ruffles

As I was browsing the internet for some NEW and fun pink big girl panties, I ran up on these! Oh my, if my sewing included more than a bottle of fabric glue or a hot glue gun.....check out the pink shoes!!!!

I think I have died and gone to ruffle heaven! I may have to change my quote for the day....
".....for everything else, there's Mastercard!"

pink big girl panties

We went junkin' and junk is what we found. Here are my treasures from four long days on the road! I think that "the picker's" have picked our roadways clean and all that is left is either pink or glittery. Of course, pink and glittery is just my style, I'm just not sure how many of our customers think it is as sweet as I do! Empty nest plus dog days of summer = a need for a giant attitude adjustment. I think I will take my treasures home, love on them a little bit, put on my big girl panties, and be back tomorrow with a great big pink, sparkly smile!

"would you rather say, "I wish I had" or "I'm glad I did"?"

who would have thought it

Where can you go to find a beautiful french lamp?

Or fabulous antique Italian ceramics?
Or how about a 30" high bronze signed french statue? Paris, Rome??? We only WISH we had gone to Paris or Rome!! We found these beauties in South Georgia yesterday. Now, my pictures stink and I am either too lazy or too busy to make this blog as pretty as most out there, but I promise you that we found some beautiful antiques right around the corner that will knock your socks off! If you want to have a peek before they are packed away for Marburger, better hurry! We are already loading!

one plus one

Take one old small desk, add 4 bun feet and a cute piece of scrap from a chest of drawers, and poof... you end up with a cute four poster bed for your very best friend. I saw one of these on junk bonanza and decided to try it myself. It turned out oh so cute. I know that Janey(our store cat) is going to LOVE this bed!
Now, about the heat. Apparently 105 degrees on hot asphalt is NOT hot enough to fry an egg.
I tried it and all that I got was a mess in our parking lot.

Wanted: Gypsies and Junk

Is anybody else hot out there? This weather is quite the creativity killer in Sasser. It is just too hot to think, much less, do, unless the task at hand involves water. As I was trying to find things that needed the water hose, my sweet little trailer caught the corner of my eye. Out she came and has now had a cool bath inside and out. I think I caught her smiling when she thought we weren't looking. On to the fun part...I have see if I can figure out what her name is. She has one, I am certain, but she just hasn't told me what it is yet. Gracie, Cooter,Lucille, Phyllis, Jewel, or Josephine???? I will let you know when I find out! What color would she like to be painted? turquoise or pink? I am thinking turquoise. What is her personality? Is she graceful and gracious or....
a party on wheels?
This is a party on wheels! I hope to have her painted in few weeks and would love any input. Are there any vintage camper trailer psychics out there or just anyone who gets my fun and want to be a part of this rescue mission? I promise that we will have fun! Google up the Sisters on the Fly if you have a chance and get back with me if you want to start a gypsy junkin' jaunt with Alice and Jay!

just one more....

I just have to say one more thing about Mexico and then I will shut up and go back to store business! Look at me! I am flying. I am pretty sure that this is as close as I will ever get to flying. I have had these marvelous dreams all of my life in which I am really quite the expert flier but then I have to wake up and deal with the fact that my feet will not leave the ground no matter how wide and how high I stretch my arms. I wonder if the dreams will stop now? If so, next... para sailing!

grilled carribean grouper or a turkey sandwich?

This was dinner last night...tonight....a turkey sandwich....
The sand between my toes has all been washed away...
The souvenirs have found their places of honor...(ok, come on! Where else but Mexico could you get a bottle of tequila with your picture on it!!)
The coconut drinks have all been finished...After a few of these you kind of start to see faces appear in your drinks...just ask my crew....

The cool tropical breezes are now replaced with the thick, humid, mosquito infested South Georgia air.....
We are home safe and sound....wishing we were still in Mexico....but thankful for a great vacation....
Wait....maybe I could catch the next bus back to paradise. If I miss the bus, I'll be back in Sasser tomorrow so come by the store and we will share some fun!
