Yesterday, we decided that today would be a great road trip day. It was a spur of the moment decision.
Those are the kind of decisions that I live for! An adventure just waiting for the sun to rise. This was the view from our lunch table.
This was the view from the other direction.
A sleepy little fishing village tucked quietly amongst the moss covered oaks, swaying palm trees, and pelicans that line the pier posts. This is my memory of a Florida almost Forgotten. Steinhatchee, Florida. A little slice of heaven hidden off of highway 19. We had seafood lunch at Roy's which sits right over the water. If you are craving great seafood, it is worth the drive!

The prettiest little chapel sits in an oak grove near the water. Who couldn't stop and give Thanks in a place like this. After we stuffed our tummies till we could stuff no more and did a mini-sightseeing tour(Steinhatchee is a mini town) we hit the road to do a little shell shopping.
While I am not much of a conventional shopper, I AM a great "fun junk" shopper. Shells and shell art fall in to my "fun junk" category. WORLD OF SHELLS here we come! PS Jay says that this chain fell into his "fun junk", unfortunately, it was not for sale. We filled the truck with shells and to sell. Next stop, Boston, Ga.
We went from quintessential old Florida to quintessential Old South. Nothing defines the South more than a sunset falling upon a cotton field set against a forest full of Longleaf Pines.

After I finally came out of the cotton field, I asked Jay to drive me around the pond to enjoy the last few minutes of the sunset. I watched the sun set and then turned around to see a full moon and its perfect reflection smiling at me. Can you see the moon in the sky and the water? It was breathtaking and the perfect end to a perfect day!
"Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power
and the glory and the majesty and the splendor,
for everything in heaven and earth is yours.
Yours, O LORD, is the kingdom;
you are exalted as head over all.

Wealth and honor come from you;
you are the ruler of all things.
In your hands are strength and power
to exalt and give strength to all.

Now, our God, we give you thanks,
and praise your glorious name."
