Harvey played so hard yesterday! Could you tell?

I guess it is just a Mother's love but I think these are the cutest little boogers I have ever seen! They have colored our world in the brightest new colors!

In a New York minute

In a New York minute...we ate too much fabulous food, took too many silly pictures,

went to EVERY possible New York landmark that we could find,

found fun buildings, parks, and loads of green in a city that never sleeps,

Spent sweet time with family that is soon to expand!

And in a New York minute our time was up and my sweet sunshine flew away to fulfill her dream of visiting Africa. She will be studying animal behavior at a watering hole in South Africa for 2 weeks and then sightseeing 2 weeks. I hope that it feels like a New York minute till I pick her up but I pray it feels like a lifetime and dream come true for her. I am so proud of her for being so brave and making her passion her reality. Kelsey, if they have internet out there at that watering hole...remember to have fun, don't worry, wake up every morning and revel in where you are, be yourself, don't go in to town by yourself, don't eat monkey meat, and if you see a lion stalking you...lay down and play dead! You are my sunshine and I love you!

chicken feet or duck intestines?

Today we started out at Chelsea Market. I was kinda hoping to see Rachael Ray or Bobby Flay
but since I didn't see anybody, I just decided to host my own show. This is me practicing for the show.

Jay, this picture is for you. We have to connect our 3 buildings in Sasser and I really like the way this looks. Could you do ours like this?

Next stop...The Brooklyn Bridge

After walking the bridge we decided to go to Chinatown for lunch.

Unless you really like the smell of fish and lots of other unknown odors, I would suggest the Golden Buddha restaurant over in SoHo. Our lunch was good but we chose the safe menu items. They offered duck intestines, chicken feet, lots of frog dishes, pig foot soup....we opted for the rice dishes.

The meats were not appetizing to photograph but the fruits were just yummy!

These dried fish were popular with the locals! When we decided that our noses had been satiated with all of the chinatown they could take, we decided to go to Little Italy. On our walk there, we had our most exciting New York moment- A POLICE RAID! A VEGETABLE police raid! We figured they were selling black market veggies on the side of the street cause the police had the garbage truck there and they were all throwing crate after crate of veggies in the trash! Who would have guessed that we would walk up on a veggie raid in Chinatown! I'll let you know if we see any more info on this exciting raid.

Little Italy smelled a bit better but we were tired by now. A NYC yellow taxi is a beautiful thing when your feet have walked 2 miles too far.

When we got back to our hotel, the maid was cleaning the room next door. Look at the name on the cart! It's me! I am Alice D! We are going to a comedy club tonight and then tomorrow we are going to spend the day with my fabulous niece. My baby leaves for Africa on Thursday morning so I would appreciate all of the positive energy anyone could send my way! Nervous doesn't even begin to describe me!

Today was a busy day. We went to the top of the Empire State building

The line was too long to have a picture with the front of the famous bull so we had to settle for the back side.

We went to Union Square where I wished I could buy all of this fresh lavender.

On the way back to the hotel we stopped in at ABC Home.

Vacation day 2. Has anyone guessed where we are yet? Here are a few more hints

We saw The Lion King today,

toured the set of Saturday Night Live, found the Empire State building and the Flat Iron building,

and spent hours in Eataly! I love food and I have a strange obsession with grocery stores. One of my favorite things to do while I travel is find a grocery store and dream of all the exotic things that I could cook if I were an Iron Chef. I don't cook food very well but I blame that on my bathtub sized kitchen. Anyway, Eataly is fabulously fun and full of Italian delights. Mushrooms of all varieties, cheese, cheese, and more cheese.

Italian desserts galore! We were on our way to our throwdown with Bobby Flay at his Mesa Grill restaurant when we first stopped in Eataly so we didn't partake.

Dinner was wonderful but Terry was a little disappointed that Bobby wasn't in. He had planned to challenge him to a succotash throwdown. Maybe next time.

After dinner, we decided to go back to Eataly and have an Italian hot chocolate(SO thick and yummy!) and Lindsey Loo had a nice glass of prosecco.

Tomorrow is tea at The Plaza. PS Thanks to everyone for putting up with our vacation nonsense, my parents are my number 1 fans and they love for me to blog while we are away! See you tomorrow night.
