christmas on Halloween

Christmas on Halloween. Yep, that's right. I had to start pulling out my Christmas Spirit today and then go home and give out my spooky candy.

I am still having a hard time adjusting to the retail world. I feel like Halloween was over a month ago. The upside, opening the boxes that we ordered this summer and finding all of the wonderful shiny things! It really helped me find a bit of christmas joy.

Next, we opened the cans of paint and started freshening up our outside decorations.

ooh! More fun boxes!

Christmas seems to just be popping out of thin air around here.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE these trees that Jay and I made. They are so simple and create such fun.

We just drew a design that we wanted, cut them out of outdoor plywood, and then painted to please.

I'll show you the finished product in a day or so. Hope you have a spooky and spectacular Halloween.

If wishes were fishes...

Today, I would .. ride this bicycle home from work...

go inside and peep out of these two windows...
at this chair...

have a soak in this tub...

grab this blanket...

curl up on this sofa...

have someone lovely make me a cup of this...
crawl in to this bit of heaven...

and post this on my front door...
I hope that your weekend is full of color;
fun, frolic, and freckled smiles;
and all things that are practically perfect in every way!
cheerio and I can't wait till we meet again!

all of these beautiful photos are from pretty inspirations.

Happy Halloween

I told you guys that I had gotten a little tired of the Paris Grey! This is YELLOW and it screams AWESOME! I took an old cabinet that was missing the bottom doors and mirror then just put a chalkboard where the mirror was and 2 cutesy baskets in the bottom. I would love this in my kitchen or laundry room or under the carport to write love notes to the family.

Next up, pink. I love pink. It makes me feel happy and tickles my soul. This old chest was so tired and dumpy(a lot like me lately) so I decided to make it sing again. I am pretty sure that it is whistling the happiest little tune around now!

I love the alcove behind the vault. It makes the coziest bedroom!

This is my splurge from Texas. I have always wanted one of these barn toppers. I finally got one. If someone doesn't buy it soon it may have to go home with me.

Happy Halloween from your friendly spooks at Alice and Jay. We hope that your weekend is filled with loads of treats and a few fun tricks.

help!

Happy Halloween from Alice and Jay!
Hello! It has been a while. I feel as though I was swallowed up by the crypt keeper this last month and couldn't escape and I am pretty sure that I acquired a few of his bad habits while I was stuck down there. Has anyone else who has experienced hysterectomy induced menopause felt this way? It is quite frustrating and I am going to try and move forward as quickly as possible. If anyone has any advice, I welcome it(and I am certain that my co workers do too!)

We packed up Halloween in the store yesterday to get ready for Christmas. It still seems a bit odd to pack up a holiday before it even arrives! I am hoping to have the Christmas Spirit by next weekend.

I am off to paint, paint , paint today. I'll try and show you a few new things we have. I have the usual paris greys and whites but this mood has stirred things up a bit in my painting. I brought out the hot pink, yellow, and orange this week. Everyone is in shock around here.

eyeballs on earrings!!!!

Dust off yer cowgirl boots and join me for a few more pictures.

It's almost time to pack up and head home. We didn't get as many pictures today because of a sudden rain and hail storm. The temperature went from 105 to 70 in less than 5 minutes. I'm not sure that I have ever welcomed a hail storm like I did today.

I promised a few pics of Lindsey's new Skip 2 my Lo jewels. These are my favorites! The eyes are from a doll found in a Paris flea market and the little blue flowers are made from shells. Aren't they fun?!

Her silver bracelet is made from a silver victorian hair brush and the ring is an antique frozen Charlotte from London. If you have the pleasure of meeting Janet, ask her to tell you her story of frozen Charlotte. It is mesmerizing.

A beautiful necklace made with antique rosaries. So, what do you think? These one of kind treasures each come on an antique photo with a story written by Janet on the back and a history of where each piece came from.

Here are a few steps we took around the tents before the rain came.

And at the end of the day I count my blessings that I am able to share this fun with my parents and my daughter. Tomorrow is our last full day and then we will make the 16 hour journey back to Georgia. Good times are tucked safely away and I treasure each and every one!

And a footnote to Sue. Everyone's face lit up when I mentioned your name and big hugs and love were sent your direction. YOU put a smile on all of our faces.

More Marburger Lovelies

It is official...Texas is hotter than Hades! The heat has driven Jay to drink and the rest of us to try and swim in our ice chest. We are tried and true South Georgia heat and humidity folks but this is HHHHOOOOTTTT! Good news...it is supposed to be 104 tomorrow. So, to all of you out there who were wishing they could come to Round Top and just couldn't make it...sit back in your air conditioning(and thank your lucky stars for that cool) and enjoy our pictures. Today we have more lovely looks from Willow Nest, Around the Bend, Rubbish and more.

OH how I wish I could afford Betty Lou's!

If you ever get a chance to see Janet's SKIP 2 MY LOU creations you need to GO! They are fantastic, fabulous, slendiferous, and all things yummy. Now, if you are hoping to come to Marburger to buy some of her jewelry tomorrow, you need not come because my daughter bought it all today! This was her first encounter with Janet and she spent most of the day drooling over her treasures. She is incredible. I will show you what Lindsey Loo bought tomorrow.

Lastly, a beautiful Happy Birthday to Robin. Ms Magnolia Pearl is one of a kind! She gave my Dad his very own Gypsy Johnny shirt today. He spent the rest of the day stylin' around town. He says that he can't wait to get home and wear it to his Bible study. My Mom may have to get her a stick to beat the ladies off! Turn your air conditioner down for me and have a great evening.
