miracles?

Hooray! The sun is out today! After several cold and dreary days the work will resume.
Jay was able to get the entire second floor down and we are ready to start cleaning walls and old window frames have to come out. I am now praying for a miracle for this little old lady. It is going to take one to make her look sexy again.
We are still searching for treasures.
No luck yet. Our safe crackers are still trying to crack this safe.
Hmmm You would think that they built these things to keep people out??
Have a loverly day and enjoy the warmth and happiness of the sunshine!

two roads

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, and sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down on as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair
And having perhaps the better claim
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black,
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood,

And I- I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference Robert Frost
What has your path been like along the way?
Take the one less traveled!

icicles drip and fires roar

BRRRR I think I should have flown a little farther South. I am positive that it used to not get this cold in South Georgia.
We woke up this morning to a lovely blanket of icicles and no electricity.
It is a great thing that Jay's truck has heat and he is always such a super sport to drive me around to take pictures when most normal folks stay at home.
We found a little snow but nothing to brag about.

I think today may simply be a soup and fire day.
Everyone needs to go home, build a fire, put on a big pot of yummy soup and then give us a call. We will be there as soon as I finish taking pictures :). Stay warm and stay safe!

wise friends

Don't you just love those friends that always amaze you with a tidbit of wisdom when you least expect it. I am certain that it is simply the way God works and we just miss it most of the time. I have a smart little sandy pant friend who posted a video on her blog which led me to this blog -
website 1000awesomethings.com. PLEASE go and have a look. I promise that it will make your day a whole lot better(even if it was FANTASTIC to begin with.) HURRY, GO NOW!

she sell sea shells...

Happy Saturday! I hope that it is a lovely Saturday no matter where you are and your weekend is full of infinite possibilities.
One of the perks(or not a perk, depending on who you ask) is always getting to change things up around the store. In our store, everything usually changes and does a little fruit basket turnover about once a week. You can usually tell where we traveled or what we did by the way the store looks. This time...we had a hankering for seafood. I felt the need for some of those sweet Gulf coast shrimp. They were REALLY good and look at how our table turned out when we got home! One day, I hope to sit under a palm tree and just sell seashells by the seashore.
As a side-note. Remember that small gesture(of peace) from the other day? I dropped it and look at it now! tee hee hee!

it's a safe in a safe!

The BIG reveal has not been very BIG so far. We found a safe(actually 2) inside of our safe.
One of them had been vandalized and is just a great big HEAVY, torn up, rusty piece of junk. The other one has not been opened and is NOT opening without lots of help! So far, the treasures found = 2 pennies. Not even old pennies.
The rest of the second floor and the roof are coming off today. Next...metal supports.

still shoveling

I should have called Mike Rowe from Dirty Jobs! I am usually a hands on kinda girl but not this time. This is too dirty for me.
I have to give it to Jay. He has been true to his word and the clean up is almost done(the first part of it anyway)
We haven't seen the bottom of this mess since I bought the buildings 5 years ago.
By late this afternoon we plan to open the vault. Maybe I should call Geraldo for that! Can you read the metal plate? It says that if you open the safe, you will be sprayed with a chemical warfare gas. I surely do hope that gas is gone.
