Happy day Saturday
A peek at the work of my busy little hornets tops my happiness this Saturday. Every time I leave the store and come back, I find a wonderful new nest hanging from our tree. Can't wait till they finish!
Next on the list of things that made our week a little happier....
Things that go round and round and curl upside down....
and just make life a little less straight and a lot more fun.
Now, who wouldn't be happy in a bathtub sofa. This our newest one, we sold the chaise lounge tub in Virginia!
And to finish the list this week... Things that look like they were well loved and passed on to you to love some more, Magnolia Pearl ruffles and pleats, and road trips(big one this week! Going to Indiana and Ohio). We hope that your week was sprinkled with lots of happiness and the new one brings even more. Happy day!

Lucketts,Virginia
Ahhh, the drive to Luckett's Store in Virginia! Cool air, green grass, blue sky and rolling hills. What more could a gal that's been sweatin' in Georgia ask for.
Look at these stone fences that line the highway. I believe that there's magic in them there stones.
The drive was magnificent.
The show was fun, the people were great....
and then......we got to........
play in the mud! PS Our tree in the end building has shed it's spring flowers and it looks like a few hornets have been busy down there. I'll show you the magic that a few hornets and a band of fireflies can have in an old building tomorrow. Until then, go find a swimming hole and take a skinny dip!

Happy Summertime. It is the glorious season to run around barefoot, play in mud puddles, and eat blackberry cobbler. Today, as I fed the birds and filled their swimming pools, I noticed that all of my flowers that my hummingbirds love are in full bloom. I love it when the hummingbirds whirl all around our garden. It is like a secret dance recital of fairies that I have stumbled upon and have the honor of sitting in the front row to watch the performance. Take your shoes off today and find a good mud puddle(or just make your own, it's easy!) then squish your toes all around. I promise that it will take 20 years off of your age. Enjoy the wonder of summertime.

happy saturday
Happy things happen everywhere! This weekend we are in Luckett's Virginia at the Luckett's Store Spring sale and this is the happiest thing that we could have seen this morning-customers waiting in line to shop! And they shopped and shopped and we were very happy. If you are ever passing through Washington D.C. you simply must stop by this creative crossroads store. It is fabulous and fun and we have had a blast.
Next on the list are these dreamy beds at the Luckett's design house. They look like a pure heaven of ruffles and gauze and all things good. I wonder if anyone would go for this look at Alice and Jay?
Happiness list item #3 - happy attitudes = happy people.
I'll finish the list this week with sunsets, decongestants, and homemade chocolate cake. What was on your happy list this week? We'll see you back in Sasser on Monday.

proud mama and Oscar
Like all proud Mothers, I am going to brag a little on my new baby. This is Oscar. Oscar flew out of his nest yesterday and played in the garden all day. His bird parents and his big funny looking Mother watched him carefully all day. We had to shoo away cats and birds and customers all afternoon!! It was such a busy day. I reluctantly had to leave him last night but am happy to report that Oscar is happily playing in the garden again today.
He is such a handsome little bird. I read that Redbirds usually live their lives within a mile of where they are born so I don't have to worry about him graduating from high school and moving away from home! He is here to stay. My only concern is that he doesn't seem to have a tail yet. I tried to google up some info on cardinal tails but there just wasn't anything out there! odd! Does anyone know if baby cardinals are born with tiny tails or is my Oscar just missing his? Please let me know. Until tomorrow, I'll be in the garden!

Saturday Happiness Project
I have to begin my happy list with this picture. My baby girl graduates from high school today! She has been my "sunshine" for the last 18 years. She is the sweetest little golden-haired gift and I will miss her next year when she is out forging her own path. This is a picture of Kelsey and one of her very first friends, Gracie. They met in sunday school when they were itty bitty and still share the sweetest friendship! Happy, happy = Kelsey, Gracie, old friendships, best friendships, and new friendships!
Next on my list...snowballs! As I mentioned earlier, it was so blooming hot this week we nearly melted. This image kept appearing in my head and made me cool down 10 degrees(if only for a moment).
Grace holds the highest place on the list. It is a gift beyond all gifts and there are so many days that I get so caught up in the muck that I forget to sit down and let someone who knows so much more than I, have control. What was on your happy list this week? I hope you all have a wonderfully joyous week!

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

busy, busy
A busy few days have passed and we have been sweatin' like a prostitute in church again! It has been HOT. We are getting our junk ready to go to Leesburg, Virginia next week to the Luckett's Store sale. These are 2 fun and funky ladies that we met in Atlanta and then again in Texas and now we are off to see their incredibly scrumptious store! We have been putting together some of our "so called ...art" to take with us. FUn, fUn, FuN!
Between all of this hammering and cutting, I can't seem to keep my eyes off of these 2 little homes. The first home is full of my little bluebirds and the nest is now the proud castle of a brand new baby redbird. Love them so much!
Jay is exhausted from all of my birdwatching. He says that we can't get any work done for me checking on my birds. BUT...check out these new benches and birdhouses that we just got in!
Just like us, they are marching to the beat of a different drummer and we totally get the beat. Have a good one.
p.s. thanks for the kind comments on my last post. That was a picture that I took of my girls a few years back and we used it for our Christmas card.

The Saturday Happiness Project 2010
While traveling in Venice, we had the opportunity to take a boat that passed by the massive dam project (MOSES) that is under construction in an effort to save sinking Venice. This got me to thinking.... Alice and Jay need a project to save our attitudes when we have days that kinda make us start to sink! I have decided to name our project the Saturday Happiness Project. Every Saturday, we will reflect on the week and try to name all of the things that have brought happiness to our little corner of the world. Here goes....
This picture! Eileen snapped this photo of me at the Trevi Fountain in Rome. I am actually drinking the water but it looks like I had a little post nasal drip! This has got to be the happiest photo of the year. Moving on.... Mama and Daddy bluebirds faithfully tending their young, Mom and Dad redbirds patiently sitting on eggs, plastic pink flamingos, our favorite customers who always make us feel special (Especially you, Collins!), Our sweet CB who thought that the birdbath was his own little cement pond, all of our Mothers, mean people who act like children and just make themselves look STOOPID, friends who let us vent our frustrations, sweet smelling flowers, mosquito spray, and Pee Wee Herman(now,I know that he has his faults, but I loved the Pee Wee Herman Show and his big adventures. They were always good for a quick smile and a lot of imagination.
Gee Whiz, that was easy! I had to force myself to stop! I have to save a few things for next week(in case it stinks). I hope that the rest of your weekend is delightful and you can bask in the happiness that surrounds us all. Happy day to all.

One of my favorite things about spring is birds. Blue birds, mocking birds, red birds, baby birds, eggs with the best speckles on them, nests full of these beautiful eggs.....
And THEN there is my favorite bird of all time! Flamingos!
We are honored to have a family of blue birds in one of our houses and a brand new red bird family in one of our crepe myrtle trees but yesterday afternoon about sundown, we were blessed
with a large new flock of flamingos.
They have just taken over our sidewalk and garden and we couldn't be happier! As they say, the more the merrier.
